ABOUT NIBS

Our standard fountain pen nib is a Gold Plated Stainless Steel nib made in Germany with an iridium point. It will provide a smooth, pleasant writing experience that should satisfy all except the connoisseur. 80% of the nibs produced world wide are stainless steel.

For the fountain pen aficionado, we offer a 14K Solid Gold nib as an upgrade option on our best fountain pens. The nibs are .7mm (a generous medium), firm and durable. They are the finest gold nibs manufactured in Germany by one of the most distinguished names in the business. They are stamped 14K .585 and are manufactured to fit custom pen makers pens. They will, in some cases, more than double the price of a pen so they are not for everyone.

The tipping detail reveals very high quality workmanship. Note the extra gold thickness which supports the tipping pellet.

To upgrade the nib on a pen you are purchasing, first click 'add to cart' for the pen of your choice. Then find your pen by model name listed below. Click on 'add to cart' for the appropriate sized nib. The price of the nib is in addition to the price of your pen and both items will appear in your cart. We will install and test your upgraded nib prior to shipment.
